In Memory of Our Friend,
Susan Haist

Susan
Elizabeth Haist, age 30, passed away on May 24, 2008 after a
brief illness. She was born on December 22, 1977 in Saratoga
Springs, NY to Gary and Jo Harney. She graduated from the
Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor CT; earned a bachelor of arts degree
from the University of Alabama; and earned a master's degree in social
work from Michigan State University.
Susan
was a devoted wife to Joel, and a loving mother to their
two-and-a-half year old son, Noah. Susan was very active in
Riverview Church in Holt, MI. A life-long lover of music, she
was a talented cellist, vocalist, guitarist, and pianist. She
worked for Greene Wealth Management, and served as a judge for the
National Association of Women's Gymnastics Judges. Besides
her husband and son, she is survived by her parents, Gary and Jo Harney
of Middletown, DE; her two brothers, Michael Harney of Washington, DC,
and Benjamin Harney of St. Petersburg, FL; her grandparents, Charles
and Lois Watts of Winter Have, FL; five aunts and uncles; and many
cousins.

Dear
Friends,
If I spent this letter writing nothing but "thank you," it would only
begin to express how moved I have been by the love and generosity you
have shown our family. We were greatly strengthened by
countless prayers, notes, meals and gifts. Your combined
generosity totaled more than $20,000 towards Noah's education and
well-being.
Susan's memory was greatly honored and as Noah grows up he will know
how much his mom was loved. I know that Susan is in Heaven
praising God for the tremendous outpouring her passing garnered by our
community.
In closing if you have a picture or story about Susan that might give
Noah a better idea of the woman his mom was, we would be grateful if
you would share it.
A slideshow that was made for Susan's memorial service is posted on
Google videos. Just search for "Susan's Memorial" and click on
the
first result. Also, I will be updating Noah's blog with
pictures at http://noahhaist.blogspot.com/.
With Great Appreciation,
Joel and Noah Haist
